Dec. 18 and onward!!!

OK - so here we were "trapped" in w/ the weather. All we had planned to do went right out the "proverbial window". So life w/ Ira began completely unplanned! We were working towards Thursday and Friday - the 24th and 25th - had all kinds of plans of family coming. Luckily my parents, who are from Goldsboro, watched the weather and changed their plans from coming the Sat. after Christmas to coming Wed. the 23rd during a short weather break! They did indeed get here and we were so so happy to have them share in being with Ira. She took to them immediately - calling them Grandmamma and Grandpappa. She got up early that morning before they arrived and wanted to bake cookies for them as a gift - so off to baking we went. Can't remember if I've ever baked cookies @ 9am before - but, hey, there's a first time for everything! Dad & Lynette made a big deal about the cookies - eating most of them right away - although I think Dad really did enjoy the excuse to indulge his chocolate tooth!!! Notice in the picture Ira was giving him a hard time about "keeping" what was left of the cookies!!! They brought her a CD walkman w/ tons of batteries (thank you!) and it was a huge huge hit providing much entertainment over the next few days. During all the snow - Ira would make us put on the headphones to the CD and sing outloud! Thank you Candid Camera for NOT showing up!!!! She had a ball w/ Tom as he would sing Jingle Bells and she would dance and "shake" immaginary sleigh bells!!! It was magical!!! As for me - well the old Jackson 5 CD I had was confiscated by her and I was forced to sing "Dancing Machine" about 1000 times!!! We never had so much fun in our lives!!!!!! Thank you Ira for all the laughter!
