I feel like I’ve been dropped off on another planet some days!!! Got a phone call first thing this morning – no “I” forms yet – what a surprise. Court is scheduled for next Thursday – will only happen if my form has been processed. Apparently these forms are processed on Mon., Wed., and Fri. So since Monday of next week is a holiday – we only have Wed. of next week for it to be in the stack for Thursday court. If no form by Wed. then no court on Thursday and we will have to reschedule it for the next week. I am digging down deep here for patience as this form should have been processed before I even arrived here. I’m not alone – it is my understanding there are numerous other families here in my position.
To top that off we got a visit from the landlady today and apparently she’s not happy with us having lights on inside so she has turned off our heat. Well it just struck me funny for some reason – I just started laughing. It’s not like we have tons of lights – I mean there are 2 bulbs in each room (actually we’re down to 1 bulb in the den)– I’m sure that electric meter is flying – maybe we could figure out a way to generate rooster power!!! He seems to have plenty of energy or even mouse power – I don’t know – just need to call on all my pets!! I swear we don’t keep the lights on either – just the den and my attached bedroom at night. But what is really funny is the heart attack she would have if she knew we keep the windows open all day, every day, letting out all the heat we don’t want!!! The only thing I hate is that we have those old wall radiators for the heat and that is the clothes dryer so no more clothes dryer. Other than that when she said she was turning off the heat – I was thinking “please don’t throw me in the briar patch”!!! Another planet I tell you!!!
All is fine with Ira. We had another good day together. We went to an outdoor farmer’s type market and walked around. They sell everything from hardware, toys, bikes, clothing, shoes, produce and meats. I bought her a small purse that she liked to bring home with her to use or as a souvenir. It was 3.00 usd – things are incredibly cheap here. The shoes were from 7 to 10.00. At least we got out for a little longer today and used up some time. It’s just difficult to sit each day with nothing to do but Ira is a trooper about it – she seems happy just to be here no matter what we’re doing.
There will be no “formal” news to report really until Wed. of next week so I’m just in a holding pattern until then.

I know exactly what you mean, she would come while I was at school and turn down my heat and turn off my lights, even the porch lights,so coming in after dark was a real challenge and as you know there are no real street lights. Im glad you are taking care of all my little friends, they really like pistachios and sunflower seeds. I made the same mistake of using the nightstand to hide my stash. I got a real kick out of your story. I allways refered to her as the the rent Nazi!!
